Deans Birthday

Sorry I havnt posted for awhile. I'm sure some if not all people pretty much just forgot about us ;) Here are some pictures from Deans 1st birthday. I was going to make him an awesome cake but life got a little bit crazy so that will have to wait until next year...

He was a little hesitant at first about his piece of cake. I had imagined I would put the piece of cake down in front of him and he would throw his hands in it and go to town throwing it all over himself and the kitchen. But Dean just picked at the frosting for awhile before eating it. Even then he never "dug" into it. Oh well atleast he is a clean eater :)

We went to go see Grandma Rogers later that night and the sugar had already kicked in. He was pounding walls a million miles an hour, crawling (but it was so fast it looked like it was in fast forward) from room to room. He could not sit still. I had never seen him so insane before. It was very entertaining!

Alright I'm really not that interesting but here we go...

The Rules: 1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.2. People that are tagged write a blog post about their own 8 random things and post these rules.3. At the end of your post tag 8 people and include their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment on their blog to tell them they've been tagged, and to comment back and read your blog for the whole story.

1. I am slightly obsessed with beautiful noses. I dont really care if you have a weird nose (like myself) I just really appreciate beautiful noses. Johnny Depp for instance has the most gordeous nose I've ever seen.
2.When I was kid I hated milk and refused to drink it and thought it actually made me sick. I think I drank powdered milk for awhile I dont really remember what it was but it was semi good. I used to eat my cereal with water because the powedered milk had the wrong consistancy. After awhile I finally started using real milk with my cereal (probably mostly due to my brothers making fun of me constantly) But I still refuse to drink the left over milk after my cereal is gone. Eww grose!!!
3. I started doing this one a long time ago I used to do it anytime I was in a moving vehicle but now its mostly only when I drive. I always bite down exactly when I'm passing a telephone pole. If theres a telephone pole on both sides I'll bite down with the corresponding side of my mouth. If I miss one than I feel like my world is out of sinc. Weird I know but I just automatically start doing it. If I keep myself from doing the first one than I'm good and everything is fine.
4. I'm slightly addicted to candy but I LOVE cottoncandy!!! It is the best candy ever invented. I could eat it all day every day!
5. I love flip flops. I wear them year round. And you would think since that is all I pretty much wear on my feet I would fork out some money to buy good ones. But no I think its wrong to spend lots of money on flip flops. $2.00 ones serve the same purpose as expensive ones.
6. I love reading. My favorite are dragon stories. Other than that I will pretty much read anything as long as it grabs my attention in the first 2 chapters.
7. I pretty much only drink water. It's yummy and it doesn't challenge other flavors when I'm eating. Soda is grose I cant stand the way the carbonation feels going down my throat. Milk - I've been over that, and I can only take small amount of juice at a time or it makes me sick.
8. Possibly my favorite thing in the entire world would be my arms being scratched. Actually more like tickled but that sounds even weirder.

I'm only going to tag 4 people - DeAnn, Janei, Megan, Abby.

Seattle Fun

Look how BIG those flowers are!
The twins are so big! And were sooo much fun. I realized I hadnt spent enough time with them actually getting to know them. They have some of the cutest personalities. Dean has never been one to just snuggle for periods of time, so I thouroughly enjoyed all the loves the boys gave me. They were so quick to be my friend. I love you boys!
They liked to poke eachother. Dean was pretty fascinated with the twins. They were so good to put up with him touching and poking them all the time.

We played frisbee golf or "Frolf " as Vernon calls it. Actually the guys and Tiffany did(with me subbing in for a couple rounds). DeAnn and I pushed the strollers through the dirt mounds. It was actually great exercise. I pushed the two seater for awhile and it worked some of my muscles good. The next morning I was sore. I know pathetic.
It was kinda funny when we flew into the Seattle airport Vernon and I thought it was so cold! When we got to there house and were talking about things to do, they all thought we should do something out side because of the "beautiful weather". We agreed (thinking they might be slightly crazy) and threw on our sweaters. The next day we understood what they meant. It was freezing and raining. The news said that day that they were expecting snow that week. SNOW!!! In APRIL!!! And it did snow and hail and rain. And if you readers really know me then you know that I of course only packed flip flops and one hoodie. I ended up borrowing jackets and buying shoes which were well worth it. (Vernon just threw on thick socks borrowed from Tommy with his sandles... hehe he makes me laugh-but he was warm).
The tulip festival was very pretty unfortunetly it was too cold for them to bloom so we only got to see the flower garden they have up front. They were still beatiful and HUGE! The drive was also beautiful. It was snowing through a lot of it and the fields were gorgeous with a light haze over them. I rolled down my window one time when it was snowing/hailing, I still cant decide wich one it was, to catch some and some fell into the truck and some ended up down peoples coats and in there hair I have NO idea who would be so immature to do things like that! Needless to say Justin locked my window after that. Sad day for me!
(Dont worry my punishment was shortly revoked)
We also went to the aquarium, but sadly since I had to hold Dean the whole time I completely forgot to take pictures. Luckily DeAnn is much cooler than me so you can look at her pictures of our adventures here : http://thebattys.blogspot.com/
We had such a great time visting with friends and family. It was so relaxing we didnt want to come home to life. Thanks Tommy, DeAnn, Justin, Tiffany and of course Mason and Justin for a wonderful vacation!

Me

Well I finally did it. I have been wanting to cut my hair off for forever, but you see I'm kind of a wuss. Weird how we can get so attached to hair. So far still not missing it though. It only took me like 10 minutes to completely get ready today! I still prefer long hair over short on me but wow the benefits of having short hair are well worth it...
1. Dean cant get as good of a grip on my hair
2. I wont have bald spots
3. I wont be completetly bald by age 23 due to my son ripping my hair out every chance he gets.
I now understand compeletly why so many women after having kids chop off their hair!

Family Fun

This is Allie. She looks like she is praying and doing it oh so cute. But really she just doesnt like the wind. She is such a sweet baby.

What a cute pose!
Vernon put dean in this tree and he sat there all by himself and had a blast. No worries we had people ready to catch him just in case.

Tyrel, Megan, and Allie.

Dean loves to be outside playing and screaming. He is so much fun!

To top the month off Tyrel and Megan and adorable baby Allie came to visit us. We had so much fun being with them. Tyrel and Vernon had fun having a LOTR marathon (which they didnt even come close to finishing). And oh so talented Megan taught me some new tricks on photo shop. She also helped me with my new banner for my blog (thanks :)) We also took a quick trip up to Blackberry patch or Ash Creek I think is its "official" name and had a picnic.
Thanks for coming out to see us guys. We love you :)

Cedar Springs

He loves being with his daddy.

Me and my beautiful niece Rachel.
The next weekend we went to Cedar Springs with the Batty/Evans/Turnidge gang. It was quite a weekend. We had a 7month pregnant lady, a baby boy who has never slept in anything but a crib, and extremely strong wind. Luckily thanks to Jon and Emma we had a porta potty close to camp so we could make quick trips to the bathroom when needed. The wind was pretty annoying and we dont know if we all got burned by the sun or the wind. And even though Dean screamed/wiggled/fussed/kicked/played/and ate most of the night we were still able to have an enjoyable time playing on my dads little go cart/climbing rocks/etc...
All in all a splendid weekend.

Oliver Knoll

I lOVE flowers!

Emily with Dean.

Well we have had a fun month so far. We started with a trip to Oliver Knoll with the Batty/Lunt/Griffin gang. It was absolutely beautiful. We had a picnic with yummy KFC and then went hiking around the Knoll. We didnt actually get to the knoll since it was pretty far away. But we had fun exploring and learning new things from Grandpa Jon. Dean had so much fun playing and being out in the great outdoors he zonked out on Grandma Emma on the short stretch back to our picnic site.
